Week 4 Daily C: Daytona International Speedway GR.1

Race A last week, the time trial and this weeks race C all at Daytona? Why are they choosing the same track over and over :(

A fucking wonderful chicane penalty system.
Unnecessary changes.

It seems like because of the start of the IMSA season🤠

But Goat Atlanta is right there... (also, I personnally feel that most of the gr1 cars don't really feel fun at daytona, and that chicane penalty being so inconsistent does not hep)

I don't find Gr1 cars fun either

IMSA season is starting. I like when GT follows the real world races.

I like when they do that too, but I feel like they always do it a bit too much, daily A last week was really fun so I ran it a bunch, this time trial not so much so I planned on letting it go once I got gold, but now daily C too? And in the same class as the TT? It's like with the GT world series, one daily race is the race, one exhibition round is the race with the full length, and one time trial is on the track of the race, all at the same time. They just take up slots that could be used for more unique races (ste croix is a Gr3/Gr1 banger and gt7 only used it *once*) and create a "fatigue" for me. Were they bonus slots like a daily D, or a 3rd trial, I think it would be fine, but I'm already not doing daily B and C a lot because it's often the same tracks again and again, so making the unique stuff repetitive doesn't help.

The problem with Gr1 is that it's multiple classes of very different endurance cars, and a bunch of prototypes with no unifying ruleset or design philosophy, so some cars designed for classes that ran specific tracks will only be fun on the tracks they were made for, and each of the categories will work or not on different tracks. On daytona, I like the 2016 and 2021 cars, but not the rest of the class. At Le Mans, I love the diesel LMP1s and group C, but VGT is a bit boring. At Fuji, I like most of the VGTs, but I don't like the 2021 car. Honestly, it would be a lot better of Gr1 could be fragmented in these subclasses, because then the fun but less competitive cars would be allowed to shine. The L750R is meta here, and I think it's one of the least fun tracks for this otherwise fun car. Making a 2016 LMP1 only race would imo be much better because the cars are funnier, but that might be a bit too much trouble for Polyphony.

Probably best for this to be a one make race because everyone is using the same car 🥱

Unsure why there is SOOOO much dislike for Gr.1 at Daytona, can definitely tell people DO NOT pay attention to real life events. Anyone Heard of 24hr Daytona? An event thats happening 24-25 January, sure we had it last week with the Mazda yet that was BORING - this week is great, pit strategy and cars we dont often get to use! I LOVE IT

I agree, I have found myself really enjoying this week's Daily C. 90% of the races I've been in this week were competitive and fun. 

Because there are real life events using cars that are in game does not mean that, in game, it is a fun combo. The VGT cars are meta here, they are not fun jere, go try a VGT at daytona in real life and tell us how fun it is. As for the mx5 race, that was one of the funniest races I've done in a while, only thing needed would be more laps or strategy, and guess what, mx5s are fun to drive IRL pretty much anywhere. Now the good thing with Gr1 daytona is that since most people don't like the combo, the few people racing it are enjoying it and that usually means cleaner racing. Personally, I enjoy this week's daily A, not many do, and even if I am outclassed in all my lobbies it is a fun race to me. At the end of the day, the only real issue is thqt 3 slots isn't enought to cover a wide spectrum of racing, and for a game like gt7 that caters to so many kinds of racing it's a shame.

No such thing as VGT in Real Life! The Gr.1 combo was really fun and I mostly used the 787B which was I believe the better car over the L750. Like I said I didnt really enjoy the MX5 at Daytona but it is what it is, everyone has their opinions - no different to the discussion about Pineapple on Pizza. I didnt even touch Race A this week as it didnt appeal to me, sure Sardegna RT C is a fun track but I am over the Specific Car Races. I am outclassed in MOST of my lobbies too I am either a C or D Rated driver just depends on the week. I think 3 slots can be enough some weeks but I do agree there should be more - up to 5 would be nice same with 20 car lobbies and maybe the use of other tracks and not the same 8 on repeat.
