I fell into the trap (being fairly new with GT7 Sports mode), and I regret doing this race several times.
Indeed, there really is no choice to what car to take. It's a bit infuriating that although I take my corners better than some others, they still pass me by easily or get further away, just because they drive a Viper, WRX or whatelse, while I'm driving the Porsche '22. I'm not that experienced with Gr 3 cars, so I tend to stick with the one I'm familiar with.
This race almost decreased my DR from C to D. So I'm not taking any risks anymore. I get screwed in the first corner. And get penalized for other drivers mistakes. And a lot of drivers that try to take the corner while you're already taking them, and just run you over. And don't get penalized for it.
I don't mind losing from my own mistakes, but not because of others bad driving or intentional agressive take-overs. It's hard to stay sportmanship-like with such drivers.

Robert MajorInteresting to see new drivers perspectives as well like mine. Honestly though I think the game is still rewarding, and it rewards being fast. In daily race C this week it started of so so for me for a few races, when I started farther back in the fi...
2:22:0 : Sure you're talking about Monza? My qualify time was 1:52:something and fast drivers were between 1:48 and 1:51.
I do enjoyed it still and also follow drivers like Luc Nodaro, Kizzi, Digit, Hogston, Snake, and such. With only a few weeks under my belt, I still have lots to go through (really need to learn manual shifting, as it seems a skill where I can gain extra speed).
Luc's 4 rules are great, but not always applicable in the shorter races (like this Monza was), where there are a lot of agressive drivers.
