Honestly, from what I can see, their system just doesn’t hold up. The logic they’ve presented doesn't add up.
The only noticeable change affected A+ rated players, and that’s key. Only A+ accounts had their progress bars visibly adjusted in their profiles. That clearly suggests the cap was lifted for A+, while all other DR tiers remained unchanged. This means the underlying scoring system stayed the same for everyone else.
So, using your example, if A is capped at 50,000 DR, and previously A+ was capped at 100,000, your bar (in-game) dropping to 50% after sitting at 100K would imply that the new A+ cap is now 150,000.
In short, PD only stretched the DR ceiling for A+ players, and that’s why others aren’t seeing the same kind of shift.
Any logic can sound reasonable if you package it well and present it to an audience that doesn’t dig deeper. And often, the public will just accept what’s being said without really questioning the mechanics behind it. But when you actually look into what the system is meant to do, and compare it to how it behaves, the explanation they’ve given just doesn’t line up.
What’s puzzling is why they’re going to such lengths to defend or overcomplicate something that should be transparent and simple.
