Another one car race, who needs 100+ cars in sports mode when only 5 are competitive?
Really good daily, I like it

Aligned! GR2 with some tire management. But I think it could have been better with the "no chicane" layout.
why can't gt7 do like rain races or something like that and challenge us

Ok but as you said, it was 5 WEEKS AGO. And it was correct me if im wrong, first? race we had like this in 2026. We are getting the same stuff nonstop all year in C (Sunny weather, non-creative strategy). What we want from GT is to give us every 2-3 weeks MAX something we will ALL love (long race, dynamic weather, every race different). I mean dont get me wrong this week's daily C is not THAT bad, Gr2 with tire management (you will have problems ONLY if you're pushing it every corner all race), chicane layout. But for SOME of us it just looks the "same" as other daily c's we had in the past. But thats my opinion.
I'm having a lot of fun today in the americas' lobbies.
I had been preparing by doing 11 lap race simulations in Gr.3 cars though. Before this morning I had never driven the Gr.2 cars outside of what the single player campaign asks of us before sport mode gets unlocked. I'm pleasantly surprised with the drivability of these cars. In my experience, most sims that feature high aero downforce cars fail the playability test miserably. GT7 appears to have nailed it. I'm now curious to see how the Gr.1 cars, F1 and the prototypes are like to race.

Rain? In Spain? At this time of year? Not realistic. I think what you mean to ask for is the MP4/4 at Suzuka in october with torrential downpours. We could all cosplay as either Alain The Professor Prost or Ayrton Goes for the Gap Senna. Pick your favorite.
But I get it, yeah. Must get boring to start on pole and win every race after a while.

yeah but like they could take advantage of their very good rain or physics or do a night race or maybe add rain at the nurburgring you know

Yeah, I'd like that too. But I've only been playing GT7 since early june. Maybe thats why I'm not in a complaining mood. I find this game awsome! Seriously, just the driving physics keep me completely captivated. When I find myself in last position(and its happened a lot, let me tell you) with no realistic chances to catch the driver in front, I keep driving for the sheer fun of it. The vehicle dynamics are just that satisfying to me.
I think we have to recognise also that we're probably part of a very small minority. That most GT7 players aren't all that knowledgeable when it comes to race strategy, period. Even in fixed weather conditions. Hell, how many times have you seen some poor sap earn a 1 minute penalty for not having swapped tires during the races that feature mandatory pit stops. How would those drivers fare if you throw in dynamic weather and fuel management? Not to mention the huge skill gap in the driving. Its a miracle any newcomer finds the will power to soldier through the steep learning curve of sim racing. Put yourself in the shoes of the average player that has a hard time simply controling the car. The player who doesn't quite understand all the unspoken rules of condunct we're expected to drive in accordance with. Do you think that player will have a better time if PD makes the races more complicated? Of course not! So these players won't take part in the hardcore races if they happen.
I was in only my second week of racing sport mode when race C featured Le Mans endurance with all the bells and whistles. I was not interested in driving those high downforce cars but I had to give a try to see. I was right about the cars. At that point in time, I was not ready and I couldn't appreciate them. But the pit strategy, the full day/night cycle and the dynamic weather blew my mind. I kept coming back for more, again and again. Its in one of those raaces that I won my first race. Still my only win. You know how? We must've been 9 to take the start, for a race on a track 13.5km/8.5miles long. How sad is that? Frankly, even in a full lobby, this track is too long. Anyway, by the end of the first lap we were 4. I was last, about 30 seconds behind 3rd place. the leader had trully checked out. At some point after the sun set the cars in 3rd and 4rth left the lobby a few seconds appart. They must have collided and lost the will to race. The leader was almost 1:30 in front of me. He slowed down to let me catch up but in the darkness I never saw him and instead of joining him for a bit "racing" he got dropped by the really slow driver he had waited up for so he also left the lobby. I can't blame him. I did finish the race all by myself even if I found the car really difficult to control. Told you I really like how this game feels. So that's how I won my first GT7 sport mode race. Not very glorious is it?
Polyphony Digital has to do a lot of hand holding in order to not alienate the majority of GT7's player base. For an online game to thrive it needs lots of players. And since most players are casual it limits what PD can get away with. Now here's the part I can't wrap my head around: why split the global player base into three areas? What's the advantage? Wouldn't it be good to lump everyone into a single player pool and have the matchmaking system do its thing? I have an account for each of the three areas and I haven't had any major network problems. Maybe PD figures some players have less than adequate internet connexions that wouldn't work in a global player pool, I don't know. But I have no doubt that PD doesn't want to see low participation numbers because it leaves the impression that the game is dying when you join a lobby with 6 or 8 players.

It doesn't look Iike you set a qualifying time for the DYNAMIC WEATHER NIGHT RACE we had five weeks ago. PD repeats situations which achieve high player activity. Anyone who didn't participate has no room to complain. Perhaps you raced from the back of the grid with no Quali time set, I shouldn't assume. But remember that data is king. Not opinions. Participate in the race scenarios you want to see more of. And sit out the ones you don't. It's really that simple.

This is already a problem related to the game's algorithm. The best score on a track can only be achieved with a single vehicle. Therefore, everyone chooses the same vehicle. No one chooses the other similar vehicles. This also spoils the fun of the game.

It's good isn't it? I exclusively raced the americas lobbies on monday. Gained nearly 2k DR by starting from the back and raking in the top 5 finishes. Was very much surprised at how well behaved everyone was in the lobbies I raced. For the last few races the matchmaking started putting me into B lobbies. At first I thought that was where I would start to struggle but I somehow managed to find my way near the front.
How have the drinving standards been like mid-week? I'm asking because after taking tuesday off I raced my european account last night and I had horrible luck having to contend with stubborn drivers in front agrresively defending and punters behind driving as if my car wasn't even on track.

i've only driven my alt-account for practice so far, but I find Wednesday nights to be clean in general. yesterday I went P16-P2 and P15-P4 and while the opening lap was a little chaotic in t1 and through the third sector, every lap after that was clean.
Anybody else wanna take a jackhammer to the first curb in the chicane?
I'm sad to see this week come to an end. I've enjoyed racing this daily C so much that I stayed up until the middle of the night to get as many runs in before the start of the new week. And I have no regrets. These last few races have been some of the most enjoyable I've had in sport mode so far. Lobbies weren't full and there was a noticeable pace imbalance between drivers but friendly demeanor and common courtesy accross the board proves this game's playerbase cannot be reduced to a handful of aliens in top split and raving lunatics everywhere else. Its a rare delight, no doubt. The more reason to appreciate these precious moments when they manifest themselves. If any of you reading this were racing european C lobbies during the last 3 hours of the week, maybe we crossed paths. Thank you for the sportsmanship and fairplay!
So long Barcelona! Here I come Tokyo!
